DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHS (X-RAYS)
Bitewings and Periapical x-rays along with the occasional Panograph (or Panoramic) x-rays are what you might be accustomed to. We value information to direct our recommendations with as much precision as possible. So we incorporate 3D CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) and even lateral cephalometry, when necessary.
Are all of these necessary? No, not necessarily. They each have a specific purpose and each have their strengths and weaknesses at revealing different things. So depending on what we are trying to discover, specific images will be indicated.
When we first meet you, we may recommend most (likely not all) of these different images. Every patient is different. But if we are going to embark on a health journey together, we feel it is best to know where we are starting so we can identify any changes along the way. Once we become acquainted and have a “baseline” established from our first comprehensive evaluation, we will only recommend specific images as the information is required.
These are all excellent diagnostic tools that make up one part of the comprehensive evaluation equation. And a correct diagnosis is the key to any consistent, successful health journey.
